Capacity Building & Skill Development Trainings
The Capacity Building & Skill Development Trainings under the RAMP Programme aim to strengthen the skills, knowledge, and entrepreneurial capabilities of both existing and aspiring entrepreneurs in Goa. These programmes are designed to support MSMEs across sectors by addressing skill gaps, improving managerial competencies, and enhancing technical and business capabilities.
Implemented by the Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce, the intervention focuses on delivering need-based, sector-specific, and customized training programmes to empower entrepreneurs and promote sustainable MSME growth in the state.

How it Works
Under this intervention, a wide range of government-sponsored training programmes are conducted across Goa, covering diverse thematic areas including skill development and technical training, business management and entrepreneurship development, institutional and capacity building, tourism-related training, and other sector-specific programmes. In addition, customized and need-based training modules are designed for existing MSMEs to address their specific business challenges. The programmes are implemented through two empanelled training partners, the EDII Goa Centre and the St. Joans Education Society . Training delivery combines classroom learning, practical exposure, and tailored modules to support aspiring entrepreneurs in setting up new enterprises and to help existing entrepreneurs upgrade their skills for business expansion and long-term sustainability.

The Capacity Building & Skill Development Trainings have enabled skill development and capacity enhancement of over 30,000 aspiring and existing entrepreneurs and Self-Help Group members across Goa. These initiatives have strengthened the overall entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state by improving business knowledge, managerial capabilities, and technical expertise. As a result, MSMEs have demonstrated improved survival and growth rates, supported by a more skilled and adaptable workforce. The programmes have contributed to economic diversification by creating a talent base aligned with emerging sectors and market opportunities. Additionally, enhanced alignment of MSMEs with market demand and government policy initiatives has supported employment generation and inclusive economic growth across the state.
