Forest Department of Goa
The Forest Department of Goa manages and protects the state’s rich forest resources, which form part of the Western Ghats, a globally recognized biodiversity hotspot. The department works towards conservation, sustainable development, and effective management of forests and wildlife by implementing government policies and enforcing relevant laws. It undertakes afforestation, protects mangroves and marine ecosystems, promotes farm forestry, and raises public awareness to ensure community participation in preserving the state’s natural heritage.
