The Goa Handicrafts Rural & Small-Scale Industries Development Corporation Ltd. (GHRSSIDC Ltd.), a Government of Goa undertaking, was established in 1980 and is registered under the Companies Act, 1956. The Corporation plays a key role in promoting, developing, and marketing Goan handicrafts and products of rural and small-scale industries. Its mandate includes supplying goods to Government departments, Corporations, and Autonomous Bodies under the Preferential Purchase Scheme, providing skill training to artisans and unemployed youth, organizing handicraft melas and exhibitions, and extending financial support such as subsidies to clay idol makers.
