The Reimbursement of Expenses for Startups Operating from Leased/Privately Owned Premises Scheme, under the Goa Start-up Policy 2017, supports certified start-ups in Goa operating from rented or privately owned spaces. It offers reimbursement for expenses such as internet, software, and cloud services, along with a lease rental subsidy for local start-ups. Implemented by the Start-up Promotion Cell (SPC), the scheme aims to reduce operational costs and strengthen the start-up ecosystem in the State.

Benefits

  • award-check Privately owned premises: Reimbursement up to ₹1 lakh per quarter for internet, software, and cloud, for up to 1 year (20 start-ups/year).

  • award-check Rented premises: Reimbursement up to ₹1 lakh per quarter for internet, software, and cloud for 1 year, plus lease subsidy up to ₹20/sq. ft./month for up to 2 years (cap ₹3 lakh/year).

  • award-check Selection: 20 start-ups for operational costs and 25 for lease subsidy annually by SPC.

  • award-check A start-up can choose either privately owned or rented premises benefits, not both.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a start-up certified by the Start-up Promotion Cell (SPC).

  • The start-up must not be operating from any government-developed co-working space, incubator, or accelerator.

  • Bank accounts and Directors must be linked with Aadhaar.

  • Lease rental subsidy is applicable only to Local Start-ups and only for 2 years.

  • Local start-up is defined as one where at least 50% equity/shareholding is continuously held by one or more Goans since inception.

  • A Goan is defined as a person born in Goa, or domiciled in Goa for 10 years or more, or spouse of a Goan (marriage registered in Goa).

Birth Certificate / Domicile Certificate / Marriage Certificate

Copy of valid registered Lease Deed

Original proof of payment towards lease

Copy of Income Tax filings showing the total rent amount.

License details of software purchased

Copy of original bill from company certified vendors

Original Proof of payment for software / internet / cloud

Open the UDP portal and navigate to schemes tab.

Select Reimbursement of Expenses for Startups Operating from Leased/Privately Owned Premises scheme from the list of schemes.
