Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)
PMEGP is a flagship credit-linked subsidy scheme of the Government of India aimed at promoting self-employment and generating sustainable livelihood opportunities. The scheme encourages unemployed youth and traditional artisans to set up new micro-enterprises in both rural and urban areas by providing financial assistance and margin money subsidies.
Benefits

Up to 35% margin money subsidy on project cost; higher for special categories and rural areas.

Low beneficiary contribution: 10% (general) and 5% (special).

Banks fund 90–95% of project cost.

Second loan option for well-performing units with subsidy.

Mandatory EDP training for business setup.

Ongoing handholding, mentoring, and employment generation support.
Eligibility

Any individual, above 18 years of age.

Passed at least 8th standard for manufacturing/ for projects above 10 lakh Self Help Groups.

Institutions registered under Societies Registration Act,1860.

Production Co-operative Societies.

Charitable Trusts.

How to Apply?
Visit the official website: https://www.kviconline.gov.in/pmegpeportal/pmegphome/index.jsp.
Click on the “Apply” button under the “Application For New Unit” tab.
Fill in all the required details on the application form and click on “Save Applicant Data.”
On the next page, upload the required documents and proceed with the final submission.
