Patent Filing Reimbursement Scheme (Goa IT Policy Schemes)
Launched in 2018, the "Patent Filing Reimbursement Scheme" is one of the "Information Technology Policy Schemes" by the Department of Information Technology, Government of Goa. The objective and the scope of this scheme is to provide Patent Filing Reimbursement to the eligible Information Technology Units in the State of Goa. A total reimbursement of up to ₹ 25,00,000 per unit for the expenses incurred towards the filing of patents during the policy period. All the New and Existing Units having their operations in Goa are eligible. The scheme has been framed as a part of Goa's IT Policy that envisages Goa as an aspirational geographical and human resource base for IT Units and a preferred destination for their investment and expansion.
Benefits

Total reimbursement up to INR 25 lakh per Unit.

Reimbursement up to INR 2.5 lakh per successful domestic patent.

Reimbursement up to INR 5 lakh per successful international patent.

Subsidy provided only for patents granted during policy period.
Eligibility

Units must operate in Goa (new or existing).

Eligible entities: Proprietorship, Private Ltd., Public Ltd., Partnership, or LLP.

Unit and directors’ bank accounts must be linked with Aadhaar.

Udyog Aadhaar is required to claim benefits.

Incentive applies to patents granted during the policy period.

Units receiving similar incentives from Central or Goa Government policies are not eligible.

Scheme provisions are not binding assurances from the Government.

Memorandum and Articles of Association (MOA & AOA)
First bill or document showing commencement of operations
Receipts or challans for patent filing fees
Copy of patent filing application
Patent registration certificate or equivalent proof
Previous patent reimbursement sanction letters (if any)
How to Apply?
Log in to the UDP Goa website.
Select Patent Filing Reimbursement Scheme from the list of schemes.
Click on the Apply button.
You will be automatically redirected to the Goa Online Portal to submit your application.
