MSME Competitive (Lean) Scheme

The MSME Competitive (Lean) Scheme is an initiative of the Ministry of MSME aimed at enhancing the productivity, competitiveness, and efficiency of MSMEs by introducing Lean tools and techniques. The scheme focuses on waste reduction, better resource utilization, optimization of space, improved quality, and adoption of a culture of continuous improvement. By guiding MSMEs through Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Lean levels, the scheme helps enterprises reduce operational costs and improve overall process performance.

Benefits

  • award-check Free implementation support at the Basic Level for MSMEs.

  • award-check Government financial assistance up to ₹1.08 lakh for Intermediate Level and ₹2.16 lakh for Advanced Level.

  • award-check Low beneficiary contribution of only 10% of implementation cost at higher levels.

  • award-check Additional 5% GoI support for women, SC/ST, NER, and cluster-based MSMEs.

  • award-check Incentives for MSMEs applying through OEMs or Industry Associations.

Eligibility

  • All MSMEs registered on the UDYAM portal are eligible to participate in the MSME Competitive (Lean) Scheme and avail its benefits.

  • The scheme is also open to Common Facility Centers under SFURTI and clusters under the MSE-CDP Scheme.

Approved MSME Competitive (LEAN) application forms

Lean Pledge Form (Annexure-1) with owner/partner name, enterprise name, UDYAM number, unit address, and Lean ID

Undertaking Form (Annexure-2) confirming statutory compliance

Declaration of commitment to complete the Lean journey
