Interest Subsidy Scheme (Umbrella Scheme)

The Interest Subsidy Scheme, 2017 supports manufacturing units and eligible eco-tourism projects in Goa by reducing their financial burden through interest reimbursement on term loans and working capital loans. The scheme aims to help enterprises remain financially viable while promoting higher Goan employment. It applies to units that commenced production after 1st October 2017.

Benefits

  • award-check Term Loans: 30% of interest paid, subject to annual ceiling.

  • award-check Working Capital Loans: Lower of 1.5% of annual turnover or 30% of interest paid.

  • award-check Goan Employment: Subsidy adjusted based on % of Goan employees (60% for full subsidy).

  • award-check Maximum Ceiling: ₹25 lakh per year (₹27.5 lakh for All-Women/SC/ST).

  • award-check Period: Max 7 years from first claim.

  • award-check Budgetary Condition: Subject to fund availability.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Enterprises: MSME Manufacturing Units (White/Green/Orange categories) post 1.10.2017, or registered Eco-Tourism projects.

  • Goan Employment: ≥ 60% Goan manpower on payroll for the full year.

  • Loan Requirements: Loan from specified banks/EDC/NBFC; subsidy on actual interest paid.

  • Ineligible Loans: Loans under certain schemes (e.g., Modified Interest Rebate 2012, CMRY) or penal interest.

  • IT Benefits: Units taking IT Department benefits are ineligible.

  • Subsidy Calculation: Term Loan: 30% of interest paid; Working Capital: lower of 1.5% turnover or 30% interest paid.

Log in to the UDP Goa website.

Select Interest Subsidy Scheme, 2017 from the list of schemes.

Click on the Apply button.
