The Incentives to Industries for Training Prospective Employees Scheme, 2017 has been introduced to help industries bridge the skill gap among the Goan workforce. Since many industries require specific technical skills that may not always be readily available, this scheme supports manufacturing units in providing short-term, demand-driven training to Goan youth through approved training institutions. The scheme enables industries to train potential employees effectively, improve employability, and make use of existing training infrastructure in Goa.
Benefits

Reimbursement: 60% of training costs for prospective employees; max ₹60,000 per trainee, ₹7,20,000 per unit per year.

Requirment: Task Force-recommended units only; requires STP certification and attendance proof of successful completion.

Budget: Subject to allocation; no estoppel if funds exhausted.
Eligibility

Eligible units: Registered manufacturing enterprises under Umbrella Scheme 2017.

Training: By approved Skill Training Providers only.

Trainees: Goan, aged 18–42, hired after course completion.

Proposal: Must be submitted before training; only training fees eligible.

Reimbursement: 60% of cost, up to ₹60,000 per trainee and ₹7.2 lakh per unit per year.
Required Documentation
Self-declaration as per prescribed format
Copy of training proposal submitted to the STP including course content, duration, trainees count, and infrastructure details
Approval certificate of the STP from DTE/DSCT/DITC
Certificate from STP confirming successful completion of course
Detailed report of the course, attendance roll by STP
Receipt of training fees paid by the employer to the STP
