IPR Reimbursement Scheme
The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Reimbursement Scheme, under the Goa Start-up Policy 2017, supports certified start-ups by reimbursing up to 50% of costs incurred for successful national and international IP registrations. The scheme covers government and attorney fees, subject to prescribed caps, and is implemented by the Start-up Promotion Cell (SPC) to encourage protection of innovations and reduce the financial burden of IP filing.
Benefits

Reimbursement of up to 50% of total IP registration costs.

Maximum reimbursement: ₹2 lakh (National IP) and ₹5 lakh (International IP).

Covers fees and other eligible IP application costs.

One-time reimbursement per IP application.

Subject to SPC approval; not an entitlement.
Eligibility

Applicant must be a start-up certified by the SPC with a valid certificate number.

IP must be for a technology-based product/service or enhance an existing one using technology.

Applicant must have filed or obtained grant/registration of the IP.

Mandatory government and attorney fees must be paid.

No reimbursement claimed for the same IP under any other scheme.

Directors’ bank accounts must be Aadhaar-linked.
Required Documentation
Copy of successful IP registration
Original Proof of Payment - Detailed statement of expenses incurred towards the IP Registration along with he copies of invoices & reciepts from the competent authority and legal counsel as applicable
