Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (ESDP) Scheme

The Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (ESDP) is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of MSME aimed at developing entrepreneurial abilities among aspiring and existing entrepreneurs. The scheme provides structured training programs—ranging from basic awareness to advanced skill development—to help individuals identify business opportunities, acquire technical skills, and improve their managerial capabilities. The programme also encourages self-employment, especially among women, SC/ST, differently-abled individuals, ex-servicemen, and people from rural and economically weaker backgrounds.

Eligibility

  • Minimum Age: 18 years; no upper age limit.

  • Relaxation: Possible for school dropouts.

  • Priority Groups: SC/ST, women, physically handicapped, ex-servicemen, and BPL candidates.

  • Advanced Programmes: Eligibility based on recommendations from Field Offices, HQ, or Implementing Agencies.

  • Final Selection: Decided by the DC-MSME.

  • MDP Eligibility: Existing/prospective entrepreneurs and supervisory staff.

Proof of age

Caste certificate, if applicable

Disability certificate, if applicable
