Directorate Of Fisheries

The Directorate of Fisheries is the nodal government department responsible for the development, regulation, and sustainable management of the fisheries sector in the State. It supports both marine and inland fisheries through policy implementation, infrastructure development, and welfare and financial assistance schemes for fishers and fish farmers.The Directorate focuses on conservation of fishery resources, adoption of sustainable fishing methods, and capacity building of stakeholders. Through these initiatives, the Directorate plays a key role in strengthening livelihoods and ensuring the long-term sustainability and growth of Goa’s fisheries sector.
